📣 Call for Back to the Bay Presentation Abstracts!
CSUEB's annual professional development event, Back to the Bay, is sponsored by Academic Affairs, Office of Faculty Development, and the Online Campus. This event brings faculty and staff together to share expertise and reconnect after the summer in an inspired, collaborative environment. Sessions focus on topics that support faculty in their roles as teachers, advisors, researchers, users of technology, and active participants in the campus community.
Topic areas include:
1) Strategies that ensure every CSUEB student experiences an inclusive, accessible, and intentional learning environment. Sample topics: growth mindset approaches to teaching, universal learning design, innovative teaching practices, trauma informed teaching strategies, course redesign, culturally responsive and inclusive pedagogy, student retention, student assessment, and transparency in learning and teaching (TILT).
2) Proposals that enhance career development and institutional knowledge are also invited. Sample topics: time management, understanding CSUEB data, managing multiple roles, career transitions, assessment of program learning outcomes, and faculty governance.
3) If you have been involved in a campus program that strengthens student success, please consider presenting.

Learning Innovation for Future-Forward Teaching (LIFT), is a new CSU initiative supporting faculty to embed durable skill development into undergraduate courses.

Join the CSU faculty Accessibility Virtual Community of Practice (CoP)! Held on the first Thursday of the month, beginning April 2026. Each meeting will focus on a different topic related to the accessibility of digital instructional materials and will provide attendees with a space to ask questions, share best practices, and build community.
