Canvas is the learning management system used for online and hybrid courses at Cal State Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. This page explains how to log in, where to get help, and what technology is recommended for online learning.
Go to the Canvas login page from the Online Campus website: Canvas login.
Sign in using your CSUEB NetID and password.
After logging in, your courses appear on the Dashboard. Select a course tile to enter the course site.
Use the course navigation menu on the left side to access modules, assignments, discussions, grades, and other tools.
If you do not see a course you are enrolled in, check MyCSUEB first to confirm your registration and start date, then contact your instructor or the Online Campus if needed.
Canvas technical support
Canvas provides 24/7 technical support for students.
In Canvas, select the Help menu to access live chat, phone support, and Canvas guides.
Use Canvas support for issues such as trouble submitting assignments, quiz or exam errors, and problems viewing course content.
Check the Canvas Status page if you suspect a system-wide issue.
For questions about how your course is set up (for example, where to find specific activities or grading policies), contact your instructor.
Campus accounts and Single Sign-On
Use your CSUEB NetID and password for Canvas, MyCSUEB, and other campus services that use Single Sign-On.
If you forget your password or experience login problems, visit the campus password reset page or contact the Service Desk.
Some services also require Duo multi-factor authentication. Make sure your Duo device or phone is working before critical deadlines.
Recommended technology for online learning
A computer or device with a supported browser (recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge).
Reliable internet access, ideally broadband.
A webcam and microphone for courses that use Zoom or other web conferencing tools.
Headphones or a headset for clearer audio during live sessions.
Any course-specific software listed in your syllabus or Canvas course.
If you have questions about technology access, contact the Service Desk or your instructor. Some programs and services may have options to support students with limited access to devices or internet.
